Warrior Of The Sea

I wish I could hear your epic tales
Weaving your life onto my imagination
Of what it’s like to be wind on the open sea
Watching the tapestry of complex sunsets
Measuring time with the rise and fall of light

I wonder of storms you’ve come across
Where the next thought might be the last
Wading through miles of thick muddy fog
Waiting for a rogue wave in the night
When nightmares can manifest in reality

I know that you’ve found your peace
Making it safely home to rest in your grave
A fitting ending for a warrior of the sea
Dipping your tired toes to soak in the tide
Having a perfect sunset view everyday

  1. So haunting… and yet peaceful. Some beautiful lines, Tone… tell us, did the image inspire you, or did it come after, and/or… all that. i.e. Process notes, if you like to tell. :)) I’m just curious, but for blog-fun as well.

    1. Sometimes I will have an idea already in my head and then I just choose a photo that helps to illustrate what I am trying to convey. Other times like this one in particular I just go with the flow of the picture. I will study it looking at what story it tells me and then just start writing. Music also plays a factor on the mood I write each poem. Thank you for your kind words and your curiosity to my process, its not very often I get asked about it. πŸ™‚

      1. Ah thank you for this… always wonderful to share processes… yes, music can play a big part in affecting writing, same for me, if I’m ever listening to some at the time, which admittedly is rare. Thank again, Tone, and take care. πŸ˜ŠπŸ™
