Forever Connected

There is something special between us
Forever connected by a special thread
Stretching farther than time can see
No matter where we are in the universe
The thread is felt tugging our hearts

You told me when you thought of me
The phone would ring with me on the line
I would tell you of a star in my dream
Sitting on the beach watching the sunset
Hearing your whisper call my name

Distance and time always keep us apart
As our lives go farther and farther away
Down the road on our chosen divided path
Sometimes I can feel a tug on the thread
Reminding me that we’re forever connected

    1. Thank you so much Lia! Yes indeed it does! I have had more than a few times when what I wrote in the second stanza happened to me. Not all instances were exactly like that but similar. πŸ™πŸ˜Š

      1. I have this one friend (a gal) who, though we rarely talk, if I ring her in my head, she usually calls me that same day via phone, often within the hour. It’s the most cool thing, since I’m mostly awful about physically calling people, truth be told. πŸ˜…

      2. That same thing happened to me also in a similar way, it’s so fascinating how that works. I am also guilty of being horrible at phone calls as well. Most of the time I just give them a text and call it a day. πŸ˜†

      3. Ha, I hear you… I’m so old school… rarely text or use my phone in any “smart” kind of way. I miss the old black telephones, so comfy to cradle against the neck, but since then I use email, that’s my main way. And sometimes Facetime, for the truly beloved, far away. ;))
